AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM - COMPRESSOR

Magnetic Clutch:
1 .
M A K E F O L L O W I N G V I S U A L C H E C K S
r Leakage of grease from th€ clutch bearing.
. Signs of oil on tho pressure plato or rotor.
Repair or reolace, as necessarv.
2. INSPECT MAGNETIC CLUTCH BEARING FOR
N O I S E
(a) Start 6ngine.
(b) Check for abnormal noise from near the compressor
when the A/C switch is oFF.
lf abnomal noise is being emitted, replace the magn€t-
ic clutch.
3. INSPECT MAGNETIC CLUTCH
(a) Disconn6ct th6 connector from the magnatic clutch.
(b) Connect the positive (+) lead from tho batt€ry to th6
terminal on tho magn€tic clutch connector and the
negative (-) lead to the body ground.
(c) Check that the magnetic clutch is energized.
lf operation is not as specified, 16place tho magnetic
c l u t c h .
Compressor:
1.
INSTALL MANIFOLD GAUGE SET
(See page AC - 1 5)
2, START ENGINE
3.
INSPECT COMPRESSOR FOR METALLIC SOUND
Ch6ck if there is a metallic sound from the comoressor
when the A/C switch is ON.
lf metallic sound is heard, replace the comDressor
assembly.
4.
INSPECT PRESSURE OF REFRIGERATION SYSTEM

5. STOP ENGINE

IilSPECT VISUALLY FOR LEAKAGE OF REFRIGER.
ANT FROM SAFETY SEAL
lf there is any leakage. replace the compressor assem-
bty.
