7 DO NOT MOVE THE UNIT DURING
PLAYBACK
During playback, the disc rotates at high speed. Do NOT lift or
move the unit during playback. Doing so may damage the disc.
7 HOW TO MOVE THE PLAYER
When preparing this component to be moved, first remove
any disc loaded and press the STOP/OPEN/CLOSE § button
to close the disc table. Next, turn the power OFF; after the
STANDBY indicator changes to orange, disconnect the power
plug from the electrical outlet.
7 INSTALLATION
÷ Select a stable place to the side of other equipment
÷ Do NOT install the unit on top of a TV or color monitor.
Install the unit away from equipment that may be affected
by magnetism, such as a cassette deck.
7 AVOID INSTALLING IN PLACES WITH
THE FOLLOWING FEATURES:
÷ Exposed to direct sunlight
÷ Exposed to humidity or where ventilation is poor
÷ Extremely hot or cold
÷ Exposed to vibration
÷ Exposed to dust
÷ Exposed to oily smoke, steam or heat
7 DO NOT PLACE AN OBJECTS ON TOP
Do NOT place any object on the unit
7 DO NOT BLOCK VENTS
Do NOT place the player on a long or loose-fibered carpet and
avoid covering with a cloth, etc. This prevents over-heating
which could cause damage to the unit.
7 AVOID HEAT
Do NOT place the unit on top of equipment which generates
heat such as an amplifier or other audio devices.
When installing the unit in a rack, place it on the lowest shelf
possible (but not where it is exposed to dust) and separate
from the amplifier to avoid any possible heat damage.
7 CAUTION: IF PLACING THE UNIT
IN A STEREO RACK WITH GLASS
DOORS
Be sure there is ample space between the unit and the
glass doors when opening the disc table.
If the disc table opens against strong resistance, such as
a closed glass door, the player may be damaged.
7 SWITCH THE POWER OFF WHENEVER
THE PLAYER IS NOT IN USE
Depending on the strength of the TV broadcast signal, having
the TV set on while the power of the unit is ON may produce
stripes on the TV screen. This is normal behavior and not a
malfunction of either unit. In this case, switch the player OFF.
POWER-CORD CAUTION
Handle the power cord by the plug. Do not pull out the plug by
tugging the cord and never touch the power cord when your
hands are wet as this could cause a short circuit or electric
shock. Do not place the unit, a piece of furniture, etc., on the
power cord, or pinch the cord. Never make a knot in the cord
or tie it with other cords. Route power cords so that they are
unlikely to be stepped on or pinched. A damaged cord can cause
a fire or give you an electrical shock.
Check the power cord periodically. If it is damaged, ask the
nearest PIONEER authorized service center or your dealer for
a replacement.
