Connection Example 3
AV amp
Connect the player's audio output jacks to an amp's CD, LD, AUX or other audio input jacks. (Do not connect to PHONO jacks)
Connect the player's video output jack to the amp's video input jack
When connecting to a component bearing the Pioneer Î mark:
If you use a commercially available cord with a mini plug (no resistance) to connect this player's EXT.CONT jack to the
control output jack of another component bearing the Î mark, the player is controlled as if it were a component in a system
(system control).
A player under system control, ignores commands sent through the remote control.
Connect the amplifier using an audio cord, even if using only digital components when the system controls the unit
Surround sound can be enjoyed with amplifiers that have a built-in Dolby Pro Logic decoder

Digital recording components
Make digital output (Coaxial) connection
¶ Connect the DVD player's PCM/Ÿ output connector to the digital input connector on the device used for digital recording
When recording a Dolby digital compatible DVD, set
"Digital output" to the PCM setting as explained on
page 39. When the disc is recorded in Dolby Digital
(AC-3), noise is audiable if the setting is left at PCM/
