Motor Brush Replacement
NOTE: It is recommended that this procedure be
performed by an authorized service center.
1. Follow the steps for removing the motor in the
Motor Replacement procedure.
2. On the Series 700 and 800 turbine motor, remove
the two retaining clips and plastic fan cover.
3. On the Series 900 turbine motor, lift the retaining
clips out of the top of the motor for brush replace-
ment.
4. Remove the brushes. Check the commutator for
excessive wear.
5. Reassemble the new motor brushes using reverse
order. Keep lead wires from all rotating parts and
the motor frame.
CAUTION
Do not run the motor with the air inlet or outlet
sealed off.
6. Reinstall the motor in the reverse order.
7. After running the motor for 30–45 minutes at
full–rated voltage, the motor will return to full
performance.
