Bobbin Winding

To Remove the Bobbin Case:
1. Remove the extension table from the sewing machine
by pulling it to the left.
2. Open the shuttle cover (a) by pulling down the tab that
is on the left side of the cover. (Fig. 1)
3. Raise the needle to its highest position by turning the
handwheel towards you.
4. Hold the bobbin case (b) by the hinged latch (c) and pull
the bobbin case straight out of the shuttle.
To Remove the Bobbin:
1. Release the latch (c) of the bobbin case and the bobbin
(d) will drop out as illustrated on the left.

To Wind the Bobbin:

The spool pin is used to hold the spool of thread in order to
feed the thread to the machine. The spool pin is found in
the back of the sewing machine. To use:
1. Pull out the spool pin.
2. Place the felt first and then the spool of thread in this
order onto the spool pin. The end of the thread should
be coming out from the spool of thread as shown in
Fig. 2.

3. Release the clutch by pulling the handwheel out (d).
This will stop the needle from moving while you wind the
bobbin.
4. Pull the thread from the spool and guide the thread
around the thread guide (e).
5. Pass the thread between the tension disks (f).
6. Thread the bobbin by passing the thread through the
hole in the bobbin (g) from the inside to the outside.
Wind the thread a few times by hand around the empty
bobbin in a clockwise direction.
7. Place the bobbin on the bobbin winder spindle (h).
8. Push the bobbin winder spindle to the right (h).
9. Press the foot control gently to wind the bobbin. The
machine will stop automatically when it is full.
10. Return the bobbin winder spindle to its original position
by pushing it to the left (i) and cut the thread.
11. Push the handwheel in to engage the clutch (J).
Note: The sewing machine will not function if the clutch is
not engaged.

To Insert the Bobbin:

1. Place the bobbin (a) into the bobbin case making sure
that the thread feeds clockwise from the bobbin.

2. Draw the thread through the bobbin case slot (b).
3. Draw the thread under the tension spring and into the
delivery eye (c). Pull out about 4 inches (10 cm) of
thread.
4. Holding the bobbin case from the latch, position the
bobbin case into the shuttle (d) and then release the
latch. The case should lock into place when the latch is
released.
