H A PT ER 7.1 Overview This chapter discusses the EMG1302-R10A’s WAN screens. Use these screens to configure your EMG1302-R10A for Internet access. A WAN (Wide Area Network) connection is an outside connection to another network or the Internet. It connects your private networks such as a LAN (Local Area Network) and other networks, so that a computer in one location can communicate with computers in other locations.

  • Page 189 Wireless security is vital to your network to protect wireless communication between wireless clients, access points and the wired network. Wireless security methods available on the EMG1302-R10A are data encryption, wireless client authentication, restricting access by device MAC address and hiding the EMG1302-R10A identity.
