Important: The oven TemperatureKnob should
be adjustedone notchand then the oven shouldbe tested. (We recommendbaking2-
-9" yellowlayercakes usinga purchasedbox mix.) If the oven tamperetum is stilltoo
low or too high, repeat the proceduredescribedabove.
If the knobis rotatedtoo far or in the wrongdirection,rotate the knobin the opposite
directionuntilthe center of the screw is dJractlyunder the tdangle, which is the starting
point. Initiatethe procedureagain until the desired temperatureis reached.
Sincetheupperovenisself-cleaning,itsuseis suggestedforfoodsthathavea tendency
to spatteror spillover. The loweroven porcelainwalls and door,whichare of the same
highqualityporcelain as the upperoven,can be wipedclean withsoap andwater if food
is not allowed to bake on a secondtime. Heavy spatteringor spilloverswill require
cleaningwith mild abrasivecleansers such as Bar Keepers Friend, S.O.S. or BonAmi.
Householdammonia may be usedto loosensoilby placingY2cup householdammonia
in a glassdish on oven rack In a closed,cold oven overnight.
• To remove difficultstains, use an oven cleaner such as Easy-Off on oven liner.
Follow oven cleaner directions. DO not spray electrical controls,temperature
sensingbulb,doorgasketor exteriorof oven. Removeoven racksbeforespraying
withoven cleaner.
• For cleaningother areas of the oven, clean oven rackswith S.O.$, pads. Oven
windowmay be cleaned with soap and water or a glasscleaner. Becareful not to
soak or rub the oven door gasket.
