Brake system warning light

$ illuminates red.
Illuminates when the parking brake is
released, if the brake fluid level is too
low or if there is a brake system fault.
See Brake fluid on page 247.
{Warning
Do not drive with the brake system
warning lamp on.
This may mean your brakes are
not working properly.
Driving with malfunctioning brakes
can lead to a collision resulting in
personal injuries and damage to
your vehicle and other property.
Illuminates after the ignition is
switched on if the manual parking
brake is applied.

Antilock brake system
(ABS) warning light
! illuminates yellow.
Illuminates for a few seconds after
the ignition is switched on. The
system is ready for operation when
the control indicator goes out.
If the control indicator does not go
out after a few seconds, or if it
illuminates while driving, there is a
fault in the ABS. The brake system
remains operational but without ABS
regulation.

Up-Shift Light

* illuminates when to shift to the
next higher gear for best fuel
economy.

Hill descent control (HDC)
system light
5 illuminates green when system is
ready.
5 blinks green when system is
activated.

Power steering warning
light
E illuminates yellow.
It illuminates when the ignition is
switched on and goes out shortly
after the engine starts.
If the indicator does not go out after a
few seconds, or if it illuminates while
driving, there is a fault in the power
steering.
Seek the assistance of a repairer.
