B. Cockpit Refreshment Center
The 280 Horizon and 285 Sundowner models come
equipped with a refreshment center located on the port
side, behind the port lounge seat. The refreshment
center is optional on the 230H-265S models with L-
shape seating only. The refreshment center includes
110 volt Ground Fault Current Interrupter receptacle
(280 Horizon & 285 Sundowner only), trash receptacle,
sink with pressurized water system, Avian counter top
(280 Horizon & 285 Sundowner only), refrigerator, and
dual batteries. The switch to operate the faucet is locat-
ed on the instrument dash and is marked ACC. The
same fresh water pump is utilized by both the head
sink, cockpit sink, and transom washdown. See Fig-
ure J3.

Figure J4: 210 Horizon - 285 Sundowner WaterTank Location
The fresh water tank is usually located in the rear en-
gine compartment on the port side of the Horizon and
Sundowner models. The 210 Horizon and 215
Sundowner models have a 7 gallon (26.5l) tank capac-
ity. The 230 Horizon - 265 Sundowner models have a
12 gallon (45l) and the 280 Horizon and 285 Sundowner
models have a 20 gallon (76l) tank capacity. The fresh
water fill deck plate is usually located on the port side,
near the stern of the boat on the top of the deck. The
fresh water deck fills are clearly mark “WATER”. See
Figure J3.
A separate toggle switch to operate the pump is located
at the helm and is wired directly to the battery. An in-line
fuse is included to protect the water pump. The pump is
located in the rear engine compartment on the port side
for most models.
Models equipped with the transom washdown option will
use the same fresh water pump used for the cockpit
sink. With the “WATER” switch “ON”, push the spray
nozzle button to purge any air that may be in the system.
When a steady flow of water is coming from the
washdown nozzle the air has been purged. Release
the spray nozzle when finished. As the pressure builds,
the pump will automatically shut off at 35 psi.
When properly primed and activated, the pressurized
water system can be used in the same manner as the
water system in a home. An automatic pressure sensor
in the water pump keeps the system pressurized. Sim-
ply operate the spray nozzle and water will be delivered.
If the system has been recently filled, or has not been
used for an extended period of time, air bubbles may
accumulate at the pump. If this should happen,
re-priming may be necessary.
