In case of a lightning storm, unplug the modem cable from the
telephone jack.
Do not connect the modem to a digital telephone line. A digital line will
damage the modem.

This port is located near the cooling vents. Areas near the cooling vents
get very hot. Check the guaranteed operating temperatures of your USB
device when you place it close to these areas instead of putting it at a
remote location via an extension cable.

Used for displaying video from your digital
camcorder or video recorder on the internal LCD.
This port can be used also as line-in port and
enables connection of a stereo device for audio
input. Refer to the
Monitor-in
9, Optical Devices.
TV antenna port is provided with some models.
Connect the antenna adaptor to this port to watch
TV programs on your computer or record them.
A camcorder or other recording device can be
connected to your computer via the S-Video-in
cable for importing video data. Connect the cable
to this port for this operation. Refer to the
Video-in
section in Chapter 9, Optical Devices.
Two Universal Serial Bus ports are on the
backside. Refer to
The AC adaptor connects to this jack. Use only
the model of AC adaptor that comes with the
computer. Using the wrong adaptor can damage
your computer.
This S-Video out port lets you transfer NTSC or
PAL data to external devices. Refer to
in Chapter 9, Optional Devices.
This D-Video out port lets you transfer 525i
(480i), 525p (480p), 1125i (1080i) or 750p (720p)
data to external devices. Refer to
