1.7 LE. with ca'talytic converter
necessary to remove engine and gear-
box - differential'as single unit. Put the
vehicle on ~the auto lift and engage
WARNING: ~
Great tare dis required when dealing
with a hot engine.
a. Operatimg from passenger compart-
ment, withdraw knob from gear lever,
then remove the two protective rubber
gaiters from gear lever.
b. Remove fhe hood.
c. Workingi from inside the engine
ground table.
For followhg procedure steps, refer to
a. Unhook air filter caver 0 and re-
move filter elenent.
b. Disconhect multiple connecter 0
from air flow sensor '0.
c. Disconnect pi e @ from oil va-
pour separator 1 .

d. Disconnect #metaI, fitting @ from
sleeve a.
e. Unscreèw the three fixing screws of
air flow sensor 0 to support @I
f. Loosen s)eeve @ fixing clamp to
throttle body @ .
g. Remove air filter caver 0
te with air fl~ow sensor
h. Unsc&the three support @ fixing
nuts and bolts and remove the support
from body. ~

a. Disconnect high voltage tables
from spark plugs and coil.
ENGINE MAIN MECHANICAL UNIT
These procedures are for electronic injection ,A.7 engines
b. Disgonnect the ignition distributor
cap @ and remove it complete with
leads from engine.
4. Removal of air a.nd fuel vapour pipes
Disengage the following pipes, di-
sconnecting them from stated compo-
nents:

Pipes @ and @ from supply
manifold @ .
Pipe @ from throttle body and pi-
pe 0 from pneumatic gauge on
ignition distributor @

Pipe 0 from metal fitting 63
.
Pipe 8 from idle rpm setting fit-
ting.

Pipe 0 unscrewing fitting on
supply manifold @
5. Removal of cooling system piping
a. Unscrew and remove the coolant ex-
pansion tank plug.
b. Raise the car from beneath, refer-
ring to Figure at page,Ol-6, iemove the
right hand drain plug and then the left
hand drain plug 0 under the cycin-
der block and drain off the coolant; ~
screw on the plugs again after drai-
ning and relower the car.
Put a suitable conteiner under the car
to collect the coolant.
c. From the part stated, disconnect
the followin hoses and sleeves:

radiator and remove it.

6. Removal of fuel hoses
a. Discinnect hose

b. Disconnect hose 0 from pressure
7. Removal of eccelerator control ca-
ble
a. Rotate the accelerator lever 8
and withdraw the pawl on control ca.
ble end. ~
b. Remove split ring and draw the ac-
celerator table sheath from the brac-
k
6. Removal of ignitionlinjection
from clamps.
b. Unscrew the two fixing screws and
remove the solenoid starters @ from
body.
c. Disconnect connection
ween injectionlignition wiring and ve-
switch on throttle body @ .
9. Removal of supply manifold
Unscrew the three.fixing nuts to the
two supply manifold @ ends and re-
move it with jts relevant gaskets, com-
plete with throttle body.

10. Removal of the clutch control hose
a. Extract the fuseholder box @.
b. Unscrew 'the pipe fitting @ of
clutch pump and withdraw the hose
from service tank sheet.
D IINSTALLATION

The two central nuts also fix the
engine Iqfting brackets
right side the bracket supporting
the oil dipàstick is also fixed.
Suitably plug the intake manifold
on engine.
