9. Remove the upper transmission drive belt from the
idler pulley and remove it from the machine (Fig.
268).

Installation

1. Secure the idler arm with a strap so the belt will not
be under tension during installation. Install the upper
transmission drive belt onto the idler pulley (Fig.
269).

2. Route the belt into the top groove of the variable
speed pulley (Fig. 270).

3. Position the transmission pulley above the trans-
mission and rout the upper transmission belt around
it. Engage the grooves in the pulley with the splines
of the transmission pulley hub (Fig. 271).
