• If not as specified, inspect the following.
— EGR valve (stuck open)
— EGR valve position sensor (See
Specification:
0.4—0.6 V
7. Start the engine and run it at idle speed.
8. Verify that the EGRVP PID is within the specifications.
• If not as specified, inspect the following:
— EGR solenoid valve (vacuum)
— EGR solenoid valve (vent)
— EGR control solenoid valve
— EGR valve position sensor (See
Specification:
1.3—1.6 V
9. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the EGR valve.
10. Connect the vacuum pump to the EGR valve.
11. Apply vacuum to the EGR valve and inspect if the engine speed becomes unstable or the engine stalls.
• If the engine speed does not change, stop the engine and inspect the EGR valve.
