Power and Battery
Problem
The camera does
not turn on.
The batteries run
down quickly.
Power
supply
The camera turns
off suddenly.
Charging does
not start.
Charging is slow.
The indicator
lamp flashes and
the battery does
not charge.

Possible cause
The batteries are exhausted.
The batteries are not in the correct orienta-
tion.
The battery-chamber cover is not latched. Latch the battery-chamber cover.
The batteries are cold.
There is dirt on the battery terminals.
ON is selected for MONITOR SUNLIGHT
MODE.
The camera is in M mode.
u CONTINUOUS is selected for F FO-
CUS MODE.
The batteries are exhausted.
There is dirt on the battery terminals.
The battery has been charged many times.
The battery is too hot or too cold.
Solution
Insert fresh or fully-charged spare batteries.
Re-insert the batteries in the correct orienta-
tion.
Warm the batteries by placing them in a pocket
or other warm place and re-insert them in the
camera immediately before taking a picture.
Clean the terminals with a soft, dry cloth.
Select OFF to reduce the drain on the battery.
Select another shooting mode.
Select a different focusing option.
Insert fresh or fully-charged spare batteries.
Reinsert the battery in the correct orientation
and make sure that the power connection is
made.
Charge the battery at room temperature.
Clean the terminals with a soft, dry cloth.
The battery has reached the end of its charging
life. Purchase a new battery. If the battery still
fails to charge, contact your FUJIFILM dealer.
Wait for the battery temperature to stabilize.
