The following illustration shows an example of bus settings
in which the samples assigned to a multisample are resam-
pled with IFX1 applied. Set "BUS (IFX) Select" (Sampling
P8: 8–1b) to IFX1.
When you resample, L/R will automatically be selected
as the "BUS (IFX) Select" setting. Please be aware of
this if you continue sampling.
For details on any of these sampling methods, refer to QS
p.18, OG p.61.
2–4. Audio Input, S/P DIF IN
In Program, Combination, Sequencer, Song Play, and Media
modes, you can apply the insert effects, master effects, and
master EQ to the external input sounds from the AUDIO
INPUT 1, 2, and S/P DIF IN.
You can make this setting in "Input (COMBI, PROG, SEQ,
S.PLAY, MEDIA)" of each mode; the setting is shared by all
modes. This setting can be accessed from Global P0: Basic
Setup, Input/Sampling page; Combination or Program P0:
Play, Sampling page; Sequencer P0: Play/REC, Sampling
page; and Media: Play Audio CD page.
Set "BUS (IFX/Indiv. Select)" to specify the bus to which the
external audio input will be sent. You can select L/R, IFX1–5,
1, 2, 3(Tube), 4(Tube), 1/2, 3/4(Tube), or Off. If you want to
apply an insert effect, select IFX1–5.
"Send1 (to MFX1)" and "Send2 (to MFX2)" become effective
only when "BUS Select" (Global P0: 0–3a) is set to L/R or
Off. If IFX1–5 is selected, use "Send1" and "Send2" for the
post-IFX signal (☞"3. Mixer").
This setting is ignored in Sampling mode. Refer to "2–3.
Sampling Mode" for information on the Sampling
mode settings.
To make insert effect settings, use P8: Insert Effect in 1 Pro-
gram, 1 Combination, 1 Song, or Song Play modes.
In Media mode, effects will use the settings of the mode
in which you previously were.
In Combination or Program mode, the audio input signal
from AUDIO INPUT or S/P DIF IN can be sampled. In
Sequencer mode, the audio input signal can be used for
sampling. In Media mode, the audio input signal can be
used to play back an audio CD.
In these modes, you can also use the TRITON Extreme as a
4-in/6-out effect processor to modify the external audio
input, or use the external audio in conjunction with the
internal sounds.
For example, in Program mode or Combination mode, you
can route the incoming signal from AUDIO INPUTs 1 and 2
and the oscillator sound to "Insert Effect 093: Vocoder" in
order to set up a vocoder effect in which the internal sound
is controlled by the mic inputs ("093: Vocoder" ☞p.263).

3. Mixer

In Program, Combination, Sequencer, and Song Play modes,
use P8: Insert FX page "Pan (CC#8)," "BUS Select," "Send
1," and "Send 2" to specify the post-IFX panning, bus select,
and send levels to master effects MFX1 and MFX2.
If you have checked the "Chain" box to connect the Insert
Effects in series, these parameters "Pan (CC#8)," "BUS
Select," "Send1" and "Send2" for the post-IFX (last Insert
Effect in the chain) signal become effective.
In Sampling mode, use P8: Insert FX page "Pan (CC#8)" to
set the post-IFX "Pan (CC#8)" and "BUS Select." The master
effects are not available.
3–1. Pan (CC#8)
This parameter enables you to set the pan of the post-IFX
signal.
If you are using the stereo-in/stereo-out Insert Effects
(☞"In/Out"), set this parameter to "C064" to enable the
"Pan" settings for the oscillators (Program P4: 4–1b, 4–4),
timbres (Combination P0: 0–2b, P1: 1–1b), tracks (Sequencer
P0: 0–3a/4a, Song Play P0: 0–3a/4a), and audio inputs (Sam-
pling P0: 0–2a, Global P0: 0–3a).
If you are using mono-in/stereo–out or mono-in/mono–out
Insert Effects (☞"In/Out"), the "Pan" settings for the oscil-
lators, timbres, tracks and audio inputs are ignored, and
they are set to Center. Use the "Pan (CC#8)" parameter (P8:
"Insert FX" page) to set the pan. "L000" is hard left, and
"R127" is hard right.
