Configuring a server blade

Server blades can be configured in various ways:
– Local installation with or without the ServerView Installation Manager.
– Remote installation, see the ServerView Installation Manager Remote
Installation section in the ServerView Installation Manager manual on the
ServerView Suite DVD 2.
– By importing clone images from a remote image repository to the desired
server blades (you will find more information on this in the RemoteDeploy
manual on the ServerView Suite DVD 2 (as of version 5.210)).

Fujitsu Technology Solutions customer service under the order
number U15000-C180.
Reference installation
A reference installation of a server blade using ServerView Installation Manager
acts as the basis for a clone image. The image is created and then used by
RemoteDeploy for the fast installation and configuration of further server blades.

in the operating manual for ServerView Installation Manager, which is
included on the PRIMERGY ServerView Suite DVD 2. This DVD is part
of the PRIMERGY ServerView Suite, which is included in the scope of
delivery of each server.
Hardware preparation
To install a server blade for the first time using ServerView Installation Manager
or to make changes at a later time, the relevant server blade must be connected
to a CD-ROM/DVD drive and a floppy disk drive via the USB/VGA interface (see
the
section "Connecting the server blade" on page

basic unit, and are switched to the relevant server when the KVM key is pressed.
