Here are three more examples.
With this structure, signals going into MFX 1 continue on into MFX 2, so
that both effects are applied. Signals going to MFX 3 remain separate.
With this structure, signals going into MFX 1 and MFX 2 are processed
separately, and then MFX 3's effect is added to both.
With this structure, all three MFX processors add their effects to the
signal in order as it passes from MFX 1 to MFX 2 to MFX 3.
The order in which the effects are added can significantly
change the final sound—this is why the Fantom-X offers you
so many structure choices.
Sending Sounds to Effects
In this section, we'll describe how to route sounds into effects.
In each case, with patch tones, rhythm set drum keys and
parts, there are a couple of screens on which you can do this.
We'll be presenting the screens in their most common usages,
though you can use whichever screen you like at any time.
In Patch Mode
During Patch/Rhythm Set Editing
When you're editing or creating patches or rhythm sets, you
can pre-program the output routings of their sounds. For:
patches—you can set the routing of each tone used in the
patch.
rhythm sets—you can set the routing of each drum key in
the set.
Patch and rhythm set programming occurs in Patch mode.
After you edit the output routing of a patch tone or rhythm set drum key,
write the patch or rhythm set into the Fantom-X's memory, or your settings
will be lost when you select a different patch or rhythm set.
Effect Routing in Patch Programming
To send patch tones to the desired effects during programming,
and to set their output levels, select the patch and press PATCH
EDIT. Press F2 (↓) until the Output tab is selected.
