5 Removal and replacement
procedures

Component replacement procedures

This chapter provides removal and replacement procedures for Authorized Service Provider only parts.
There are as many as 54 screws that must be removed, replaced, and/or loosened when servicing the
computer. Make special note of each screw size and location during removal and replacement.

Computer feet

The computer feet are adhesive-backed rubber pads. The feet are included in the Rubber Kit, spare part
number 768044-001. There are 4 rubber feet that attach to the bottom cover in the locations illustrated
below. The rear feet (1) are shaped differently than the front feet (2), and must be removed and
replaced to disassemble the computer.
