The operation of any snowthrower can result in foreign objects being thrown into the eyes, which can result in severe
eye damage. Always wear safety glasses or eye shields before beginning snowthrower operation.
Check / Add Oil
NOTICE: The engine was shipped from the factory without
oil. Before you start the engine, make sure you add oil
according to the instructions in this manual. If you start the
engine without oil, it will be damaged beyond repair and will
not be covered under the warranty.
1. Make sure the unit is level. Use a high quality
detergent oil classified "For Service SG, SH, SJ, SL, or
higher". Synthetic 5W30 motor oil is acceptable for all
temperatures. DO NOT mix oil with gasoline. See Chart
for oil recommendations.
2. Remove the oil fill cap/dipstick (A, Figure 3) and wipe
with a clean cloth.
3. Insert the cap/dipstick and turn clockwise to tighten.
4. Remove the oil fill cap/dipstick and check the oil.
5. If necessary, add oil until the level reaches the FULL
mark on the oil fill cap/dipstick. Do not overfill.
6. Tighten the cap/dipstick securely.

*
Below 40°F (4°C) the use of SAE 30 will result in hard starting.
** Above 80°F (27°C) the use of 10W-30 may cause increased oil
consumption. Check oil level more frequently.
