Typical Cruise Control
Switches
Cruise Control may also be
programmed to permit fast idle
using the Cruise Control switches.
With the engine at normal idle,
transmission in neutral and service
brakes on, turn on the Cruise Control
On/Off Switch, and use the Resume
Switch. The engine rpm should
increase to a pre-defined speed. The
engine rpm can be raised or lowered
from this point using the Set and
Resume switches.
Cruise Control will maintain the set
speed under normal road and load
conditions.

LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL
To avoid injury from the loss of
vehicle control, do not use cruise
control under these conditions:
□ When it is not possible to
keep the vehicle at a constant
speed (on winding roads, in
heavy traffic, in traffic that
varies in speed, etc.).
□ On slippery roads
(wet pavement, ice-or
snow-covered roads, loose
gravel, etc.).
When descending a hill with
Cruise Control OFF, do not allow
the engine to exceed 2,500 rpm
under any conditions. Failure to
observe this precaution can result
in overspeeding and serious engine
damage.
It cannot limit vehicle speeds on
down grades if available engine
braking effort is exceeded, nor can it
maintain speed on upgrades if power
requirements exceed engine power
capability.
