Instructions for connecting/disconnecting
cables

CAUTION!
Be sure to read the documentation for the peripheral devices before
connecting them.
Do not connect or disconnect data cables during a thunderstorm.
When removing a cable, always hold it by the plug. Never unplug a cable
by pulling at the cable itself.
Connect and disconnect the cables in the order described below.
Connecting cables
I
For peripherals like keyboard, mouse, display, optical drive, etc.
Advanced Video Redirection and Remote Storage connection by iRMC
S3 is recommended.
Ê Turn off the power of the target server blade and all peripherals.
Ê Disconnect all power plugs of the peripherals from the grounded shockproof
sockets.
Ê Connect the Y-cable to the server blade.
Ê Connect all peripherals to the connectors of the Y-cable.
Ê Connect all power plugs of the peripherals to the grounded shockproof
sockets.
Disconnecting cables
Ê Turn off the target server blade.
Ê Turn off all connected peripherals
Ê Disconnect all power plugs of the peripherals from the grounded shockproof
sockets.
Ê Disconnect all peripherals from the Y-cable.
Ê Disconnect the Y-cable from the server blade.
