Section 3 - Router Mode
If you clicked Manual Internet Connection Setup on the Internet Settings page, you will see this screen. Here, you can
conigure the Internet connection for your DIR-505. After making your changes, click the Save Settings button.
Operation
This should be set to Router mode. If you want to use Access
Mode:
Point mode, select Access Point mode and click the Save
Settings button to switch to the Access Point coniguration
interface. For more information, refer to "Access Point Mode"
on page 74.
Host Name:
Select the connection mode to use: Dynamic IP (DHCP),
PPPoE, PPTP, L2TP, or Static. The remaining settings will
change depending on which connection mode you use.
Note: Most cable modem connections use DHCP, and
most DSL connections use PPPoE. If you are not sure which
connection mode to use, contact your Internet service
provider.
