7.5 Network Trouble Shooting
Since a DriveRack™ network system can be so very detailed with a
tremendous amount of information being transmitted across the network
backbone, the following information is provided to aid you in the
unfortunate event that you have network communication problems in your
DriveRack™ system.
Termination Indicators - OK or ERROR - The best place to begin
network troubleshooting, is with the Termination indicators located on the
back panel of the DriveRack™ units.

error in the network termination. They will appear as follows:
Terminator Connectors - When multiple DriveRack™ units are used in
a network system, make certain that the included terminator plugs are
connected properly at the input bus of the master unit and the thru bus
on the last unit in the network as the following illustration:

Identification numbers - It is of paramount importance that any unit
within a DriveRack™ network system have a unique ID number assigned.
In addition, there can be only one
master unit assigned for the network to function properly.
Utility Configure Network Page Display - When a DriveRack™ network
is established, page one of the utility menu will show all device ID number
currently in the DriveRack™ network
system.
Network Cables - Make sure to check all cable types and connectors.
PC Cable - When running from the DriveRack™ to and from the PC, it is
required that a null modem cable be used.

7.5 Resolución de problemas de red
Dado que un sistema de red DriveRack™ puede ser muy específico y
podemos tener una tremenda cantidad de información transmitida a lo
largo de la red principal, le incluimos la información siguiente para
ayudarle por si se encuentra con el lamentable caso de que tenga
problemas de comunicación en su sistema DriveRack™.
Indicadores de terminación - OK o ERROR - El mejor lugar para
comenzar la localización de problemas de la red es en los indicadores de
terminación situados en el panel trasero de las unidades DriveRack™. El
LED verde indica que la terminación de la red funciona. El LED rojo indica
que hay un error en la terminación de red. Aparecerán del siguiente
modo:
Conectores de terminación - Cuando use múltiples unidades
DriveRack™ en un sistema de red, asegúrese de que los terminadores que
se incluyen estén conectados adecuadamente en el bus de entrada de la
unidad maestra y en el bus thru en la última unidad de la red tal y como
le mostramos en la siguiente ilustración:
Números de identificación - Es de extrema importancia que todas las
unidades dentro de un sistema de red DriveRack™ tengan un único
número de identificación asignado. De la misma forma, sólo puede haber
una unidad maestra asignada a la red para que esta funcione
adecuadamente.
Pantalla de la página de utilidades de configuración de red - Cuando
se establece una red DriveRack™, la página uno del menú de utilidades le
mostrará todos los números de identificación de las unidades que estén en
el sistema de red DriveRack™.
Cables de red - Asegúrese de comprobar todos los cables y conectores.
Cable PC - En la conexión entre el DriveRack™ y un PC y viceversa, es
necesario que se use un cable nul módem.
