Prerequisites:

Calling Line Identification is enabled for
your phone line.
u
Your network provider supports SMS on
the fixed line network (information on
this can be obtained from your network
provider).
u
You are registered with your service pro-
vider to send and receive SMS messages.
u
To receive SMS messages, you must be
registered with your service provider. This
occurs automatically when you send your
first SMS.

An SMS may contain up to 612 char-
acters when the writing language is
English. If there are more than 160
characters, the SMS is sent as a linked
SMS (up to 4 SMS messages with 153
characters each). The top right of the
display shows how many characters
are still available and which part of a
linked SMS is currently being written.
u
When the writing language is Arabic
the length of the message is 268 and
if the message is more 70 character
the message will be sent as linked
SMS (up to 4 SMS messages with 64
messages each)

from the directory or enter
directly. For sending SMS mes-
sages to an SMS mailbox: add
