    LEDs Power LED A solid green light indicates a proper connection to the power supply. A solid light indicates that the DAP-1533 is in AP mode. This LED will blink during the AP LED WPS connection process. A solid light indicates that the DAP-1533 is in bridge mode. This LED will blink during Bridge LED the WPS connection process.

    Section 2 - Installation Installation This section will walk you through the installation process. Placement of the DAP-1533 is very important. Do not place the DAP-1533 in an enclosed area such as a closet, cabinet, or in the attic or garage.
  • Page 12: Wireless Installation Considerations

    1. Keep the number of walls and ceilings between the D-Link access point and other network devices to a minimum. Each wall or ceiling can reduce your adapter’s range from 3-90 feet (1-30 meters.) Position your devices so that the number of walls or ceilings is minimized.

    If you already have a wired or wireless router, and want to add an access point to connect your wireless clients to your network, you will need to move the switch on the back panel of the DAP-1533 to “AP2.4GHz” (for 2.4GHz) or “AP 5GHz” (for 5GHz).
  • Page 14 Create.a.Full.MediaBand.(5GHz.wireless).Network If you have two DAP-1533 devices and want to create a wireless network with full MediaBand technology you will need to connect one Wireless Bridge to your router and move the switch on the back panel to “AP 5GHz”. The second Wireless Bridge will need to be placed next to your Ethernet-enabled devices and you will need to move the switch on the back panel to “Bridge”.

    One Touch AP Configuration works like WPS but can transfer the wireless settings from an existing access point or wireless router to the DAP-1533 in access point mode. This is best used if you are using the DAP-1533 to replace and existing access point or wireless router. If you want to connect your DAP-1533 to your wireless clients, or using Bridge mode, refer to WPS.

The device has the utility built-in to a ROM chip in the device itself. Your computer must be on the same IP subnet to connect to the web-based utility.
