NOTE: This tool is shipped completely assembled. No assembly time or tools
are required.
TO START AND STOP SAW
1.
Make sure that the power circuit
voltage is the same as that shown
on the specification plate on the
saw. Connect the tool to the power
circuit.
2.
Squeeze the trigger switch (A), Fig. 1
to start the motor. Release the trigger
to stop the motor.
TWO-SPEED SWITCH
The Two-Speed Band Saw is equipped
with a speed changing switch (B) Fig. 2.
For LOW-SPEED cutting, slide the switch
bar toward "LO".
For HlGH-SPEED cutting, slide the switch
bar toward "HI".
BAND SAW BLADES
MODEL 725 requires 44-7/8" blades that are .020" thick and 1/2" wide.

Refer to the blade selection chart in the Porter-Cable catalog (see the
"ACCESSORIES" section in this manual) for types of blades available and their
recommended usage. This chart is provided as a guide only. Due to the many
materials that can be cut, your experience will determine which blade will have the
longest life for any specific operation.
WHICH BLADE TO USE
In general, select a blade that will allow at least two teeth to be engaged in the
workpiece. The thinner or the harder the material, the finer the blade teeth needed.
The thicker or the softer the material, the coarser the blade teeth needed. The hi-
speed steel blades retain sharpness longer than carbon steel blades.

OPERATION

Blades for stationary band saws WILL NOT fit the precision
blade guides on portable band saws. DO NOT use stationary
