Dimming the display
Use this when you are going to sleep or any other time you
would prefer to dim the display panel.
Press [DIMMER].
Every time you press the button:
Off Level 1 Level 2
To return to the original brightness, press [DIMMER] again.
Muting the volume
Press [MUTING].
Volume is reduced to minimum. (Output from REC OUT
(➡ right) is unaffected.)
• To cancel
Press [MUTING] again or reduce the volume to minimum, then
raise it to the required level.
Muting also cancels when you switch the unit to standby.

DISPLAY

Sound range display
-DEMO
The unit's display shows the level of each sound range with the
four types of display described below.
Press [DISPLAY, -DEMO] on the main unit.
Every time you press the button:
Normal display Peak-hold display
Off Reflection display
This display indicates the strength of the
Normal display
sound in each tonal range.
The peak sound value of each sound range
Peak-hold
is held on the display for about one second
display
after it occurs.
The peak sound value of each sound range
Aurora display
is displayed in inverted form.
The display which indicates the strength of
Reflection
the sound in each tonal range is displayed in
display
inverted form.

Using other equipment

• Peripheral cables and equipment are sold separately unless
otherwise indicated.
Using an external unit
Before connection
• Disconnect the AC power supply cord.
• Turn off all equipment and read the appropriate operating
instructions.
• The equipment connections described are examples only.

Using the Music Port
You can playback sound from portable audio equipment.
Sound from the speaker may be distorted if the portable audio
equipment's equalizer (if any) is turned on. Turn it off before you
plug into the MUSIC PORT jack. (There is no output from REC
OUT)
Preparation:
Reduce the volume of the unit and portable audio equipment
before connecting.

Press [TUNER/MUSIC P.] to select "MUSIC P.".

The unit comes on.

Play the portable audio equipment.

Press [*, RECORD] on the main unit to start
recording.

Play the portable audio equipment.
Note
To avoid damage to the center speaker, do not maximize the
volume level of portable audio equipment or the main unit.
