Caution
The metal parts of the drill may
be
made live
if
the tool drills
into
wiring. Only
the
insulated
handles
of the TE22 should be
contacted
when drilling into a
wall
or other concealed
soace.
Use
of
TE-D-SD
Setting Tool
with
HDI
Anchors
1.
Drill
the hole for
the
HDI
anchor and install the anchor
into
olace.
2.
Insert
the TE-D-SD
Setting
Tool
into
the
drill
chuck
(use
same procedure as
for a
bit).
3.
t,lsing both hammering
and
rotation.
Dlace
the end
of the
TE-D-SD Setting
Tool
into the
anchor
and "hammer" the
plug
into
the anchor
until
the
setting
tool
bottoms
out
on
the top
of the
anchor.
The HDI is
now
"set".
Maintenance
of bits
Because of
the
operating
principle of the
TE22,
excess
operator pressure
is
not
needed.
To
ensure
long bit
life,
never force
the
bit
or let
it
overheat.
Sharp bits perform better than
dull ones. Resharpen bits as
frequently
as
needed. Resharpen
only
in accordance with
instructions.
Regrinding carbide bits
Resharpening
can
be ac-
comolished
with a
normal
grinding wheel
to the
angles
indicated in
the
accompanying
diagram.
A
good
grade
of
silicon carbide grinding wheel
hardness H to
J, grit size
80
should
be used.
lt
is best
to
use
a
commercially available
adjustable
angle
drill grinding
bit holder.
Short
back and forth
movements of
the tool
will
produce
a
good ground finish
with
little heating effect. Car-
bide
cutting
edges
must
never
be
cooled
in water.
