Conventional Discovery Mode
Conventional discovery mode lets you mon
frequencies, logging frequencies with activity
recording the audio for frequencies that are not alread
known to be in use in your
easily identify the users. This includes fre
conventionally as well as in trunked radio systems.
Before using this mode, set your location and range, and
choose the database(s) to use for scanning.
To access the Conventional Discover Mode, select
Conventional Discovery Mode from the Discovery Menu.
Next, create discovery mode settings by selecting Create
New Settings, or open a previously created settings.

When you tap Accept, the discover session menu appears.

Set Discovery Name – allows you to change the name of
the discovery session.
Set Limit Frequencies – tap to enter the upper and lower
limit of the frequency range to use.
Modulation – tap to set the modulation method used
reception. If set to AUTO, the HomePatrol‐1 will use the
default modulation method for each band.
Step – tap to set the channel step to use for the session.
If set to AUTO, the HomePatrol‐1 uses the each band's
default channel step.
Delay – tap to change how long the HomePatrol‐1 pauses
after a transmission ends to wai for a reply for this
session.
Logging – select one of the following:
All: All channels are logged, even if they are not
new channels.
New Only: Only new channels are logged.
Compare to Database – select On to compare frequency
activity against channels already in the database; only
new channels will have audio recorded. Select Off to
treat all hits as new channels.
Record Duration – set how much audio will be recorded
for each new channel.
Time‐Out Timer – set the maximum duration of any
single transmission before the HP‐1 resumes to check for
other channel activity.
