Console Port

To change the stop bits value, enter boot serialstopbits, followed by the number of stop bits. Options
include 1 (default) and 2. For example:
Boot > boot serialstopbits 2
6
Verify your current changes by entering show at the boot prompt:
Boot > show
Edit buffer contents:
Serial (console) baud
Serial (console) parity
Serial (console) stopbits
Serial (console) wordsize
(additional table output not shown)
7
You can save your changes to the boot.params file by entering commit file at the boot prompt:
Boot > commit file
When the commit file command is used, changes will not be enabled until after the next switch reboot.
8
You can also save your changes in real time to the switch's running memory by entering commit
system at the boot prompt:
Boot > commit system
Caution.
There are two important things to consider when using the commit system command to save
serial connection changes:
Output to the terminal may become illegible due to incompatible serial connection settings between the
•
switch and the terminal emulation software.
If you use the commit system command only, changes will not be saved to the switch's boot.params
•
file and will be lost if the switch is rebooted. To save changes to the boot.params file, refer to step 7.
9
Return to the CLI prompt by entering exit at the boot prompt.
