G. Firescreen
The fi rescreen is a protective barrier and must be attached.
Removing Firescreen
Open lower access panel and pull base of screen towards
you.
The top of the screen will slide out of the screen retainers
at the top of the fi rebox opening.
Replacing Firescreen
Remove top grille assembly by lifting upwards and pulling
towards you.
Slide top of screen panel into top screen brackets and
rotate bottom of screen to lower door latches.
Close lower access panel and reinstall top grille.
H. Glass Assembly
WARNING
Handle glass panels with care.
Inspect the gasket to ensure it is
undamaged.
Inspect the glass for cracks, chips or
scratches.
Do NOT strike, slam or scratch glass.
Do NOT operate appliance with glass
door removed, cracked, broken or
scratched.
Replace glass door assembly as a
complete assembly.
Removing Glass Assembly
Remove fi rescreen.
Pull the four (CB4236I) or six (CB4842I) glass assembly
latches out of the groove on the glass frame.
Remove the glass panel from the appliance.
Replacing Glass Assembly
Set the glass panel on the lower two or three glass
assembly latches, ensuring the glass panel is centered
in the opening.
Pull out and latch the four/six glass assembly latches into
the groove on the glass frame.
Replace fi rescreen.

I. Grilles and Trim
Install optional marble and brass trim surround kits using
the installation instructions included with them.
Marble, brass, brick, tile or other non-combustible
materials can be used to cover gap between sheet rock
and appliance.
Do not obstruct or modify the air inlet/outlet grilles.
Leave space to lower the bottom grille and remove the
trim door.
J. Hood
Align back edge of hood with attachment clips and press
fi rmly in place.
K. Air Shutter Setting
This appliance has an adjustable air shutter (which controls
the primary air mixture) that can be accessed from under the
valve compartment located under the fi rebox assembly (see
Figure 12.8). If your installation has more than the minimum
vertical vent length, adjustments to the air shutter may be re-
quired to obtain the optimal fl ame appearance. A qualifi ed
installer should adjust this at the time of installation.
It takes 16 full turns of the shutter adjustment handle to
move the air shutter from fully open to fully closed. In the
even of soot accumulation inside your appliance, the air
shutter should be opened further. When the shutter adjust-
ment handle is all the down, the air shutter is in the closed
position. When the shutter adjustment handle is all the way
up, the air shutter is in the fully open position.
