Modular wall jack
Telephone line cord
Table/Desk Installation

Choose a spot near an electrical outlet and a telephone jack.
This phone requires a modular wall jack and a standard
electrical outlet (110V AC).

Connect the telephone line cord.
Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the jack on the
back of the base. Plug the other end of the line cord into a
wall jack. Make sure the plug snaps firmly in place.

Plug in the power cord.
Plug the round connector of the AC adapter into the back of
the base, and the other end into an electrical outlet.

Set the dial mode switch.
Set the switch to TONE if you have touch tone service, or to
PULSE if you have dial pulse service.

Position the antenna.
Rotate the base antenna until it is upright.

Select the Ringer volume.
See "Ringer Controls" in the OPERATION section of
this manual.

Install the handset battery.
(For an illustration of battery installation, see BATTERIES.)
Remove the handset battery cover by pressing down at
the center of the top of the cover, and then sliding it off.
Remove the battery from the envelope.
Snap the battery (with the charge contacts facing down)
into the battery compartment.

RINGER ON/OFF

Position the battery cover by sliding it on its track up over
the battery compartment until it snaps firmly in place.

Charge the handset battery for at least 14 hours.
Turn the handset power OFF. Charge the handset battery with
the handset face down in the base for at least 14 hours. After
this initial charge, you can charge the handset battery with
the power set to ON.

Check for dial tone.
After the batteries are charged, pick up the handset and set
the POWER switch to ON. Press P; the PHONE light
should go on and you should hear a dial tone.
Wall Installation —
Existing Wall Plate
Follow the directions below if you have an existing wall plate.
Use the short telephone line cord.

Remove the wall mounting bracket.
Push in on the ribbed tabs facing the back of the base and
remove the mounting bracket. (See the illustration on page 2.)

Connect the telephone line cord and the power cord to
the telephone base.
Plug one end of the short telephone line cord in the TEL
