should be located out of traffic & away from furniture and
draperies.

This fireplace is modular, allowing the installation of three different
decorative burner configurations or one heat-efficient model. The
modular concept provides the opportunity to upgradeeasily in the
field and customize to your immediate and future requirements.

The models and their descriptions are shown below:
Complete Fireplaces: The modular decorative burner tray may be
factory installed. The models and their descriptions for the complete
units, which includes the SE28 shell, are shown below:
EP28-2LB
- 2 logs, 16 700 BTU/H (Nat. Gas or LP)
EP28-4LB - 4 logs, 16 700 BTU/H (Nat. Gas or LP)
EP28-MB - 2 logs, 20 000 BTU/H (Nat. Gas or LP)
EP28-S2 - 6 logs, 21 000 BTU/H heating insert
(Nat. Gas or LP).
Modular Fireplaces: The decorative burner tray may be field
installed/upgraded after an EP28 outer shell has been installed.
Choose from the following avalable models:
EP2LB
- 2 logs, 16 700 BTU/H (Nat. Gas or LP)
EP4LB
- 4 logs, 16 700 BTU/H (Nat. Gas or LP)
EPMB
- 2 logs, 20 000 BTU/H (Nat. Gas or LP)
IEP28S2 - 6 logs, 21 000 BTU/H heating insert
(Nat. Gas or LP).
How to use this manual:
This manual covers installation, operation and maintenance. Light-
ing, operation and care of this fireplace can be easily performed by
the homeowner. However, all installation and service work should be
performed by a qualified or licensed contractor, plumber, gasfitter, or
installer who is qualified or licensed by the state, province, region, or
governing body in which the appliance is being installed.
The warranty will be voided by, and the manufacturer disclaims any
responsibility for, the following actions:
Modification of the fireplace and/or components including com-
bustion air assembly or glass doors.
Use of any component part not manufactured or approved by the
manufacturer in combination with an EC-Plus fireplace system.
Installation other than as instructed in this manual.
Consult your local Gas Inspection Branch on installation requirements
for factory-built gas fireplaces. Installation & repairs should be done
by a qualified contractor.
Installations in Canada must conform to the current CAN/CGA
B-149.1 and .2 Gas Installation Code and local regulations. When the
unit employs the optional Blower Kit, it must be electrically grounded
in accordance with CSA C22.1 Canadian Electrical Code Part 1
and/or Local Codes.
Installations in the USA must conform to the National Fuel Gas
Code, ANSI Z223.1-1988. When the unit employs the optional Blower
Kit it must be grounded in accordance with local codes or, in the ab-
sence of local codes, with the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA
