Verify that all suction lines are closed,
except the one to which the Polaris
is connected.
Check the hoses to ensure the cuffs are
pushed together as close as possible.
Check the hose sections for any leaks.
For dedicated suction line installations:
Adjust the valve at the equipment area
that controls the water flow to the dedi-
cated suction line until the indicator is
within the target area.
Once the correct water flow is obtained,
mark the position of the valves at the equip-
ment area for easy reinstallation.
For skimmer installations: Turn the
knob of the flow regulator (#19) clockwise
until the indicator is within the target area.
If the indicator does not move into the
target area, remove the flow regulator from
the skimmer and connect directly.
c. If the indicator is within the area marked
"too much flow":
For dedicated suction line installations:
Adjust the valve at the equipment area
that controls the water flow to the dedi-
cated suction line until the indicator is
within the target area.
For skimmer installations: Turn the
knob on the flow regulator (#19) counter-
clockwise, until the indicator is within the
target area. If the knob is turned all the
way counterclockwise, open the main
drain (or a second skimmer, if available)
until the indicator is within the target area.

J. Assembling the Cleaner
1. Turn off the pump. Hold the hose underwater
and remove the flow indicator.
2. While underwater, insert the hose through
the inner circle of the deflector ring. Position
the deflector ring on the end of the hose.
Snap the cuff onto the hose. Leave the hose
underwater. To reposition the deflector ring,
remove it from the hose; do not slide it along
the length of the hose.
Please Note: Do not use the deflector ring in a
fiberglass pool.

3. The steering skirt (#15) and surface disk
(#16) are packaged together in a box. Install
the steering skirt onto the bottom of the
cleaner, with the tabs facing upward. Line
up the tabs to the cleaner's notches so all the
components fit properly. The steering skirt's
logo should be on the same side as the
cleaner's logo.
