Ch 7: Bsic Troubleshooting
hardware problem. Remove the IOP and perform
normal troubleshooting procedures.
If there is a configuration mismatch between IOPs
it will be reported here.
If the IOP has insufficient memory, errors may
occur here.
IOP Ethernet subsystem events that occur
between the IOP and the public Ethernet.
Windows NT LAN driver problems will cause
errors in this section.
Troubleshooting these errors essentially mean
troubleshooting the LAN adapter or LAN cable
connections.
Incorrect MAC address in the Marathon Config
Utility will cause an error.
Incorrect bindings.
Unsupported LAN adapters
Ethernet transmit subsystem events that relate to
the IL
Corrupted LAN drivers or failed IL adapters will
cause errors here. Look for other related events
pertaining to the hardware.
Misconfigured LAN cards, for example not
setting the card for Full Duplex/100mbits.
Errors in the NIC bindings.
Wrong cable - not a crossover or disconnected IL
cable.
A mismatch in the MtcEtx software versions
which may occur during upgrades.
IOP Event subsystem events
When generated events cannot be presented to the
intended recipient an event occurs here. In many
cases this is due to internal Marathon Software
problems and is corrected by re-installing the
Marathon Software. If an IOP or CE is low on
event viewer resources a message may occur.
Floppy provider events
A misconfigured Marathon Config file.
A missing, disabled or faulted Floppy drive.
Floppy redirector events
Same as the MtcFloP
Keyboard/Provider events
The keyboard may be attached to the wrong port.
The keyboard may be malfunctioning.
Corrupted Registry entries concerning the
keyboard.
