HCx, eTrex Legend HCx, eTrex Summit

or eTrex Venture HC. These units use the proven

performance of Garmin high-sensitivity GPS and full-
featured mapping to create an unsurpassed portable
GPS receiver. The eTrex models operate identically
with a few exceptions. If a feature is discussed in this
manual that is not universal for all HC series units,
a notation is made. Take a moment to compare the
contents of this package with the packing list on the
box. If any pieces are missing, contact your Garmin
dealer immediately.

Tips and Shortcuts

• To quickly return to the Main Menu from any
page, press the MENU key twice.
• To extend battery life, turn off the GPS when
not using the eTrex for navigation. Decrease
the level of the display's backlight by quickly
pressing and releasing the POWER key.
