When you copy originals at 100% scale, the copy image is the same size as the
original. Note however, that printers are typically unable to print to the
extreme edges of the print media; the area in which a printer can print is
called its "printable area." When you make a copy at 100% scale, if any part
of the original image extends beyond the printer's printable area it is
cropped. You can see this effect by performing the following experiment:

Original print
Find an original that has information extending to its
edges.
2.
Original on the scanner's glass
glass in your scanner. Lower the document cover. At the printer's
front panel, Scroll to Begin Copy; press Select. Refer to
"Making copies" on page 114 for instructions on using the printer's
front panel to make copies.
3.
Copy print
Note that the image is not printed at the copy's edges.
