General maintenance and lubrication chart

ROUTINE
• Replace (warm engine before
draining). (See page 8-1.)
• Replace at initial 600 mi (1,000 km) or
1 month, and thereafter every
8,000 mi (13,000 km) or 12 months.
• Check condition.
• Replace if necessary.
• Check hoses for cracks or damage.
• Replace if necessary.
• Replace with ethylene glycol
anti-freeze coolant every 24 months.
• Check operation, pad wear, and fluid
leakage. (See NOTE on page 6-7.)
• Correct if necessary.
• Check operation.
• Adjust or replace cable.
• Apply Yamaha chain and cable lube or
engine oil SAE10W-30 thoroughly.
• Check bearing assembly for
looseness.
• Moderately repack with lithium-soap-
based grease every 16,000 mi
(25,000 km) or 24 months.
