1 Enable digital zoom.
Select ON for the [] DIGITAL ZOOM op-
tion in the setup menu (_ 99).
2 Choose a subject.
Frame the subject in the center of the display
using digital zoom.
3 Press the selector up (r_l),
The camera will zoom to the maximum opti-
cal zoom position with the area that will be
recorded using digital zoom indicated by a
frame at the center of the display.
4 Frame the picture.
Usethe zoom control to choose the area that
will be included in the final photograph.

Focus and shoot.
The framed area will
be enlarged to create a
full-sized picture.

• Pictures taken using the instant zoom are lower qual-
ity than pictures taken using normal zoom.
• Only horizontal (larldscape-orientation) framing is
available when 6, FF_, m jj,or _ is selected for con-
tinuous shooting mode.
