nderstanding auto-equalizing error messages
When correct measurement of car interior acoustic characteristics is not possible using the auto-
equalizer, an error message may appear on the display. If an error message appears on the display,
refer to the table below to see what the problem is and the suggested method of correcting the prob-
lem. After checking, try again.

nderstanding built-in CD player error messages
When problems occur during CD play, an error message may appear on the display. If an error mes-
sage appears on the display, refer to the table below to see what the problem is and the suggested
method of correcting the problem. If the error cannot be corrected, contact your dealer or your near-
est Pioneer service center.

Cause
Microphone is not connected.
The microphone cannot pick
up the measuring tone of the
front and rear speakers.
The surrounding noise level
is too high.
Cause
All tracks are skip tracks.
Dirty disc.
Scratched disc.
Unrecorded disc.
Electrical or mechanical
problem.
The CD format cannot be
played back.
MP3 file cannot be played
back.
CD player overheated.
Nothing has been recorded
or the CD format cannot be
played back.
Remedy
Plug the supplied microphone
securely into the jack.
Confirm that the speakers are
connected correctly.
Correct the input level setting of the
power amp connected to the
speakers.
Set the microphone correctly.
Stop your car in a place that is as
quite as possible, and switch off the
engine, air conditioner or heater.
Set the microphone correctly.
Remedy
Replace disc.
Clean disc.
Replace disc.
Check the disc.
Turn the car ignition ON and OFF,
or switch to a different source, then
switch back to the CD player.
Replace disc.
Switch to other MP3 file.
Turn off the CD player and wait
until the CD player cools down.
