What is the Automated Message Delivery System (AMDS)?
Alcatel-Lucent Automated Message Delivery System (AMDS) is a
voice messaging software application that allows you to
automatically deliver voice messages to thousands of constituents,
clients, staff, etc. To use AMDS, all you need is a phone for
recording the message and a standard web browser.
To broadcast a voice message, you will follow these steps.
1
Use your telephone and a browser to make a recording.

Frequently asked questions

What do called parties hear?
When a person answers the phone, he or she will hear a recorded
voice that says "You have a message. To hear the message, press 1.
To decline, press 2". Your message will not play until the person
presses 1 on their telephone keypad.
What happens when a broadcast call is answered by
voicemail?
AMDS can detect when voicemail has answered the call. When
you set up your broadcast, you can decide whether you want your
message to play when voicemail begins recording.
What if a call is busy, or if nobody answers?
Depending on how your system is configured, AMDS will wait a
certain number of seconds and then try calling the number again.
Your system administrator controls how long AMDS waits
between tries, and how many times each number will be called.

AMDS will then place calls to all of the phone numbers on your
list and play the recorded message when calls are answered. You
can decide if you want the message to only play when a live person
answers the phone, or if it is OK to play the message into a voice
mailbox.
My message is extremely urgent. What if I want to make sure
that my message is heard by a live person and not sent to
voicemail?
When you set up your broadcast, you can specify that a message
should only be played to a live person. When the broadcast is
complete, you can check the logs of that broadcast to make sure
that each person received the message. Logs also contain
recordings of each call made.
I don't want to call my customers after a certain time in the
evening. Can I set a time when AMDS will stop making calls?
Yes. When you set up your broadcast, you can decide whether you
want AMDS to keep calling numbers until all numbers have been
called, or if you want AMDS to stop calling at a certain time, even
if not all numbers have been called.
How can I be sure that everyone received my message?
You can check the logs of your broadcast after it is complete. The
logs contain detailed records of each call, including whether the
call was answered and whether the message was played. The logs
also contain audio recordings of some calls.
