Gas connection

Gas connection
Connection to the gas supply, or
conversion from use on one type of
gas to another should only be
undertaken by an approved fitter,
(e.g. Corgi registered in the U.K.),
who is responsible for correct func-
tioning of the appliance when in-
stalled. Every appliance should
have its own isolating valve.
Check with your local Gas Supplier
about the type of gas and its calorific
value, and compare this information
with the type of gas quoted on the
hob data plate.
This gas hob is supplied as standard
for connection to natural gas. It is suit-
able for connection to all three types of
gas, including gas-air mixture.
– Natural gas

(German reference -

Town gas
(German quality TGL 28049 10/82),
(n.b. nominal rating may be reduced by
up to 10%).
– LPG - liquid gas
(e.g. propane/butane).
For LPG the appropriate gas jet kit is
either supplied with the appliance, or
available on request from the Customer
Service dept. For town gas or other
types of gas, a conversion kit can be
purchased from the Spare Parts Depart-
ment. See the Section on Conversion
for instructions. Consult the Miele Ser-
vice dept if further information is re-
quired.

Installation
The gas connection must be in-
stalled so that connection can be
made either from inside or outside
the kitchen unit, and the isolating
valve must be easily accessible and
visible, (by opening one of the kit-
chen unit doors, if necessary).
An appropriate rigid or flexible connec-
tion can be used. For operation with
liquid gas connection should be made
with an 8 mm Ø pipe, 1 mm thick.
The gas connection must be in accord-
ance with national and local regulations
and should be tested for possible leak-
age. It must be so sited that it is not ad-
versely heated when the appliance is in
operation.
When the gas hob has been installed
it is essential to check that neither the
gas hose nor the electricity cable are
in contact with hot parts of the ap-
pliance or hot gas exhaust, otherwise
temperature damage to the hose and
cable could occur.
