Auger Shaft
Atleast once a season, remove the shear pins o nauger shaft. Spray
lubricant inside s haft, and around the spacers and flange b earings
found a teither end ofthe shaft. See Figure 18.
SHAVE PLATE AND SKID SHOES
The shaveplateand skid shoeson the bottomof the snowthrowerare
subjectto wear.They shouldbe checkedperiodicallyand replaced
whennecessary.
Skid Shoes
NOTE:Theskid shoeson this machinehavetwo wearedges.When
one sidewears out, theycan be rotated1800 to usethe otheredge.
1.
Removethe six carriagebolts and hexnuts that securethe two
skid shoesto the sides of theauger housing.Referto Figure19.
2.
Positionthe new skid shoesand securewith the carriagebolts
and hexnuts. Makecertainthe skid shoesare adjustedto be
level.
Shave
Plate
1.
Removethe hexnuts and carriagebolts that securethe shave
plateto the bottomof the housing.
2.
Removethe rearmost hexnut andcarriagebolt securingthe back
of eachskid shoeto the sidesof the housing.Loosenthefour
remaininghexnuts securingthe skid shoes.
3.
Slidethe shaveplateout of the off-set slot atthe bottomof the
housing,and from betweenthe skid shoesand side panelsof the
housing.
4.
Withthe mountingholestowardthe backof the unit, slidethe new
shaveplateinto positionand securewith the fastenersremoved
previously.
ADJUSTMENTS
Shift
Rod
If the full rangeof speeds(forwardand reverse)cannotbe achieved,
referto Figure20 to the left and adjust the shift rodas follows:
1.
Lookingunderneaththe handlepanel,notewhichof thethree
holesin the shiftleverthe ferruleis insertedinto.Also notethe
directionof insertion.Thenremovethe internalcotter pin and flat
washerfromthe ferruleand withdrawtheferrulefrom the shift
lever.See Figure20.
2.
Placeshift leverin sixth (6) positionor fastestforwardspeed.
3.
Pushshift rod and shiftarm assemblydownsharplyas far as it
willgo to put the driveintothe fastestforwardposition.
4.
As necessary,rotatethe ferruleup or downthe shiftrod untilthe
ferrulelinesup with the hole from whichit wasearlier removed.
See Figure20.
5.
Fromthedirection notedearlier,inserttheferruleintothe proper hole.
6.
Reinstallthe washerand the internalcotter pin.
Chute Control
Thedistancesnowis throwncan be adjustedby adjustingthe angleof
thechute assembly.Referto the Operationsectionfor instructions.
The remotechutecontrol cableshavebeen preladjustedat the factory.
