Checksparkplug yearlyor every 100operatinghours.
1.
Removechokecontrolknoband safety key.
2.
Loosenand removethe mountingscrewsfromthe snow hood.
3.
Slowlyremovethe snow hood,makingsurethat the primerbulb
hoseand ignitionwireremainconnected.See Figure15.
4.
Removeand inspectspark plug.
5.
Replacesparkplug if porcelainis crackedor if electrodesare
pitted,burnedor fouledwith deposits.
6.
Checkelectrodegap with a feelergaugeand set gap to .030
(0.76ram)if necessary.See Figure16.
7.
Reinstallspark plugand tightensecurely.
8.
Remountthe snowhoodto the enginewith themountingscrews,
againmakingsurethe primerbulb hoseand ignitionwireare
connected.
9.
Connectthe chokecontrolknobto thechoke shafton the
carburetor.If the chokecontrol knobis not installedcorrectly,the
chokewill notoperate.
10. Installthe safetykey.
NOTE:A resistorsparkplug mustbe usedfor replacement. C ontacta
SearsPartsand RepairCenterfor a replacementsparkplug.

Enginesoperatedat about3000 to 5000 feet (900 to 1500meters)
abovesealevelmay requirea high altitudecarburetormainjet. If
erraticperformanceis observed,contacta SearsPartsand Repair
Centerfor costto install/purchasea high altitudecarburetormainjet.

Avoidseriousinjuryor death,DO NOTmodifyenginein anyway.
Tamperingwiththe governorsettingcancause theengine and
equipmentto operateat unsafespeeds.NEVERtamperwith factory
settingof enginegovernor.Runningthe enginefasterthanthe speed
set at thefactory is dangerous.
At leastonce a seasonor after every25 hoursof operation,remove
rear cover.Lubricateall chains,sprockets,gears,bearings,shafts,and
the shiftingmechanism.Useengineoil or a spray lubricant.Referto
Figure17.
NOTE:Becareful notto get anyoil on thealuminumdrive plateor
rubberfrictionwheel. Doingso will hinderthe snowthrower'sdrive
system.Wipeoff anyexcessor spilledoil.

with a multipurpose automotivegreasebeforereinstallingwheels.
