Volume Bar
Usually,the volume bar appearswhen you press theVOL(ume)
button. If you do not need it, set theVOLUME BAR to OFE For
example,when you watch a program that is being broadcast with
closed captions,you may choose to set theVOLUME BAR to OFF so
the captions can remain on the screen.The captionswill remain on
the screen even when you press theVOL(ume) _ button or the
MUTE button.

Press the STATUSIEXIT button.
Smart Sound
The Smart Sound feature stabilizesthe'I-V/VCR volume. For example,
when Smart Sound is turned On, the volume will not increase sud-
denly during commercials or loud segments of programming.
The volume will stay at the same level.

Press the COMBI button.then press the SMART SOUND
button on the remote control to select ON (or OFF).The
on-screen display shown below will appear for l0 seconds.
