TO VCR Plus
TM
+
After
initial
set
up , the
new
VCR
Plus+"
programming feature lets you program the VCR for
unattended
recordings
by entering
a Plus Code"
number. The Plus Codes are published
in the TV
listings of many newspapers,
TV Guide, and local
cable-TV guides. These Plus Code numbers provide
your VCR with all the information
it needs to make
an unattended
recording,
so you don't have to
program start time, stop time, channel
number, or
dater. These code numbers can vary from three to
nine digits and are usually listed with the program
name as shown here in the sample page of a TV
Guide listing.
NOTE: If the Plus Codes are not currently available
in your area, they will probably be introduced soon.
Check
with
your local
newspaper
or cable-TV
company for publishing details.
To enable people across the country to all use the
Plus Code numbers,
each broadcast
station and
cable-TV
channel
have been assigned
a special
VCR Plus+ guide channel number.
Depending on how your VCR is connected, you may
need to enter the channel
number
for your area
which match the VCR Plus+ guide channel numbers.
Before attempting
to use the VCR Plus+ feature,
read the initial set-up instructions
for your type of
connection.
The VCR Plus+ set up is a procedure that tells your
VCR what channel to record when you select a Plus
Code
number.
Guide
channnel
numbers
are
especially important when the VCR is connected to
a cable-TV
system.
Guide channel
numbers
for
some of the cable services such as HBO, the Disney
Channel and ESPN have been standardized for all
locations where Plus Codes are available. Certain
channels
received
on a home antenna
may also
require set up. The guide channel charts for both
cable-TV
and broadcast
channels
are usually
located in the TV program listings in your TV Guide
or local TV publication.
