Hi-Fi AUDIO SOUND SYSTEM
This VCR is equipped with the VHS Hi-Fi audio sound system for recording and playback. The information
below gives a brief description of Hi-Fi audio and how to record and playback in the Hi-Fi audio mode.

OF THE AUDIO
RECORDING
SECTION
AUDIO TRACK SYSTEM
The unit is a video recorder
with a regular audio
track and two "VHS Hi-Fi" audio tracks, allowing you
to make high quality audio recordings in the stereo
or bilingual
modes
from an MTS (Multichannel
•Television sound) broadcast, a stereo Audio system,
stereo video disc or VCR and play them back in the
stereo or bilingual mode.
Combine the VCR with your audio system for more
listening enjoyment when viewing video tapes.

NOTES:
• A difference
in audio level may be detected
between Hi-Fi and NORMAL audio playback.
• When the TRACKING CONTROL is misadjusted,
Hi-Fi AUDIO
sound may revert to NORMAL
AUDIO sound. This is normal. Adjust the tracking
control again to make " I-_
" indicator appear.
If noise is heard in the audio, the TRACKING
CONTROL may need more critical adjustment.
• RECORDING
WITH Hi-Fi AUDIO
SOUND
Both Hi-Fi AUDIO and NORMAL AUDIO sound are
automatically
recorded
during
regular
video
recording.
(It is not necessary to use the AUDIO
MODE SET menu.)
• OPERATION
AS A Hi-Fi AUDIO
TAPE DECK
To use your VCR as when you use a Hi-Fi AUDIO
TAPE DECK.
1. Switch off the TV. (Not needed)
2. Set the INPUT Select button to A/V.
3. Adjust STEREO TUNER
or Receiver for high-
quality sound.
4. Follow the normal steps for recording.
A

audio
sound
signal
is
recorded
automatically
onto the mono audio track, even if Hi-
Fi is selected for recording.
• PLAYBACK WITH Hi-Fi AUDIO
SOUND
1. Set the AUDIO MODE display (Hi-Fi/NORMAL) to
Hi-Fi position. Details are on page 12.
2. Set the AUDIO OUTPUT display (STEREO/LEFT,
/RIGHT) to STEREO position.
3. Other
operations
are the
same
as general
PLAYBACK.
