■ Receiving and transmitting

RECEIVING:
q Push [
] to turn the power ON.
w Push [

] to select a channel.
e When recevng a call, adjust the audo output level to a
comfortable lstenng level.
TRANSMITTING:
q Take the mcrophone off hook.
• 2-tone, 5-tone mute may be released. (The 'audble' condton s

• A prorty channel may be selected automatcally.
w Wat for the channel to become clear.
• The channel s busy when "
e Push the [CALL] key when ntatng a call from your sde.
• Coded audo may be heard from the transcever, then "

• Ths operaton may not be necessary dependng on your sgnal-
ng system. Contact your dealer.
r Whle pushng and holdng [PTT], speak nto the mcro-
phone at your normal voce level.
t Release [PTT] to receve.
IMPORTANT!: To maxmze the readablty of your sgnal;
➥ Pause brefly after pushng [PTT].
➥ Hold the mcrophone 5 to 10 cm (2 to 4 nches) from
your mouth, then speak nto the mcrophone at a nor-
mal voce level.

• Transmit inhibit function
The transcever has several nhbt functons whch restrct
transmsson under the followng condtons:
- The channel s n mute condton ('Inaudble' condton; "
appear).
- Channel s busy.
- A matched/un-matched CTCSS code s receved.
- The selected channel s a 'receve only' channel.
• Time-out timer
After contnuous transmsson for a pre-programmed perod,
the tme-out tmer s actvated causng the transcever to stop
transmttng and automatcally select receve.
• Penalty timer
Once the tme-out tmer s actvated, transmsson s further
nhbted for a perod determned by the penalty tmer.
