BEFORE YOU OPERATE YOUR TV
BeforeoperatingyourTV, you mustfollow thesteps below. See the following pages

CONNECT THE POWER
Plug your TV into a wall outlet that
has unswitched AC power. Do not
use an outlet operated by a switch. If
the power to your TV is interrupted,
you may have to reset memory fea-
tures such as the current time, and
your favorite channel selections.
NOTE: Do not plug the TV into the
switched AC outlets on VCRs or
Cable Decoders. When you turn the
VCR or Decoder off, the "IV will
also turn off.

TURN TV ON
Turn the TV on by pressing the
ON/OFF button.
SELECT TUNING BAND
Use the TV/CATV feature to select
the tuning band for the TV. See "'Set-
ring TV/CATV Band" for details.

FIND AVAILABLE CHANNELS
Use the channel SEARCH feature to
fred all available channels for your
TV. You can store those channels in
memory creating a Favorite Channel
sequence. See "Using Channel
Search/Ship" for details.

SET THE CLOCK
(Remote Controlled Models Only)
Set the clock in the TV to the current
time. See "Clock and Timer Opera-
tions" for details.

USE OTHER OPTIONS
You may want to consider using the
following options: Activate closed
captions or text mode of operation.
See "Using Closed Captions and
Text" for details. Making picture ad-
justments to suit your individual
