USING CLOSED CAPTIONS AND TEXT
Introduction
:
Your new TV is able to decode and dis-
play the closed captions and informa-
tional text that are broadcast with some
TV shows. Captions can be subtitles for
the hearing impaired, or lranslations into
another language. Informational text can
be the daily program schedule for the TV
station, or special announcements.
You may select one caption mode (C.
Mode) or one text mode (T. Mode) for
viewing. There are four different captions
modes and four different text modes. Not
all of these modes are being used at the
time of this writing. You will have to ex-
periment with different channels to deter-
mine which captions and text modes are
available in your locality.
We recommend that you use either C.
Mode or T. Mode to select the desired
mode of operation. Then use CAPTION
ON/OFF to switch your selection ON and
OFF as desired.
f
Captions may be
shown anywhere
on the screen as
provided by the
TV station.
